Nfllines.com launched in 2002. It ran through 2004. Was neglected in 2005, came back in 2006, and got a complete makeover for 2007.
Back in 2002-2004, Nfllines.com simply published picks based on a handicapping system I devised based on NFL stats. It was a painstaking process to update & recalculate the Team Power Rankings every week, but using the system, nfllines.com finished every year with profitable picks. Using the power rankings, each pick would be rated between 0-4 stars, and bets were places using from 0-4 units in correlation with the stars. Hence a 4 star pick had a bet a 4 units, while a 1 star pick was bet for 1 unit (o star picks weren't bet on). Although there were only a handful of 4 star games each year, the record on 4 star selections was over 80% winning selections.
After a change of jobs I had more time to devote to the site last year, so I hooked up with AssistUI and we did a whole redesign and created the betting simulator and 10-9-8 pool. I believe the betting simulator is the most advanced free NFL betting simulator online. It allows straight bets, parlays, & 2 and 3 team teasers at Las Vegas odds. To add an element of skill, you must 10% of your stake each week, but no more than 30%. The NFL betting simulator give handicappers a free way to test new systems and get back accurate results. We may expand it to one day take if bets, and reverse bets, & possibly even prop bets to better simulate the true life of a professional sports handicapper.
NFllines.com is here to serve fans of NFL football and NFL handicappers, professional and amatuer. While the site obviously promotes gambling, you should always be sensible about your wagers. Like online poker, nfl handicapping can be a nice supplemental income for those who excel at it. But you should only bet amounts you can afford to lose. My best advice for anyone interested in dabbling is to open a new bank account strictly for handicapping. Fund it with your season stake, and manage it like you would any other investment. But at no time can you use any other monies for gambling purposes. If you lose your stake, take the rest of the year off. Never chase your loses.
Please give your suggestions on tools or stats you think would help you become a better handicapper. With your help, nfllines.com will become the #1 resource for nfl handicappers online.
Best of Luck this Year.
